Hi mate, I've looked into the lowering of the R's. I'm in the same boat. The yanks use a coilover system using a Koni shock & independant spring but they seem to have rebound issues. Seems the European v70r's had lower springs than the US versions. Ipd do springs, they're supposed to be the ones that drop the awd the most but not a lot off our ride height. I've decided not to lower mine due to the hassle & expensive route of getting a few mm lower. The fronts are the same as the fwd cars so readily available.
Hope this helps a bit.

I bought some Dunlop Sport Blueresponse a couple of months ago, they got good reviews and were only £70 a corner fitted.
