Anybody had any experience with non-working fuel filler flap release? Mine only works when it's in the mood which has led to a few embarrassing moments on garage forecourts when the b****rd won't open. Is this an easily fixable fault?

Yes it is a common fault. Yes it can be easily fixed, (depending on what is faulty). Quite a few people have found that removing the trim to access the locking mechanism, cleaning and greasing sorts it out.

There is an emergency release, (a cable), but you have to remove the trim to access it.

Mine is working intermittently at the minute, I have to thump the panel by the lock to get it to open sometimes. So far been lucky but guess I have to fix it properly soon or be locked out :( bound to happen when I need to be somewhere and the car is empty!!!
