As long as you`ve removed the recir valve from the side of the turbo the BOV should work :)

What's the benefit of doing that.. I actually quite like the sound you get from the air filter! :)

God, I'm agreeing with James again....lol :), I much prefer the sound of the flutter to the chav valve.

I'm surprised nobody has asked which car this is going on...

If it's ME7 then a DV is obviously a no-no :D

Why is that

ME7 (fly-by-wire) engines measure the amount of ain in the system at a given time, if you vent to atmosphere it thinks there's a big boost leak and throws a hissy-fit.

What car are you hoping to fit the DV to mate?

Cool, it'll be interesting to see how it goes (not expecting a performance gain, just to see what the ME7 strop-o-matic makes of things ;))

From my experience - I found that the ME7 will struggle to idle properly if you vent to air, namely stalling at traffic lights - hesitation on reapplication of a trailing throttle. At WOT moving up the gears - I don't think you'll notice that much.

21635

hence this is why I have to use the TIAL QR dump valve on my GTX (Garrett doesn't come with a recirc valve fitted).

You may not even throw any codes up.

If you want to fit a TIAL QR I have the 3 inch pipe with recirc adaptor already to go.

just went on a quick blast around the block and it makes a funny sound I think its turbo surge as it sounds like this

That vid sounds like the D/V isn't working and you're just getting turbo chatter from the lack of pressure release. The DV spring could be too tight and not allowing the vacuum to open the valve.

What have you plumbed the small pipe from the DV into?

The LPT engine only runs low boost (4-6psi iirc) so could struggle with a DV if not set properly.

Any performance drop?

BTW I also get turbo surge chatter on partial throttle release but I have a strong spring in the TIAL so it doesn't release properly untill your gunning it. You need to match the release pressure to be slightly lower than what the turbo makes under WOT.

The whole part as in everything I need

Well for a kick off you need a T5 and a sizeable budget on top - somewhere around the 7K mark. This doesn't include any supporting mods for suspension, brakes, geartrain.

Looks like the DV is working but it still sounds like it's blowing back across the compressor.

Here's mine with the recirc locked-off (like a blanking plate) and no DV...

I think I might need a softer spring as the dump valve was meant for a celica gt4 but im going to have a look at that v70 t5 sometime next week so might have a new toy

I am not trying to rain on your parade - I promise. I was just saying that might explain why the ME7 is happy to run the DV. I have however reported you to the grammar police. LOL ;)
