Right, with my T5R going back on the road this month, I need some new brakes.

I have the 302mm conversion up front, and the regulars (whatever size they are) at the back. I'm going to replace discs and pads all round, but i'm not sure what discs to get? Obviously the 302s were not originally on the 850, so if I got 850 discs, they'd be wrong!

If anyone knows somewhere online I can order all the discs and pads from, that'd be great!

Cheers
Pete

zimmerman 302s are good quality & have served me well in the past. Do you need goodridge lines?

I'm afraid I don't even know what that means?

On PartsForVolvos, the only 302mm discs I can find are these:

I tried GSF Car Parts, but when I put in my car details it only gives me 280mm options. What car should these 302s be on for me to look for them that way?

This is too confusing, and I've not even tried to fit them yet... lol

Give Jamie a call at PFV (Parts For Volvo) so long as you have your reg, he'll talk you through your options.

Well, a quick message to Jamie at PartsforVolvos and it's sorted.

Just ordered new discs and pads for front and rear. Next weekend I might get my hands dirty and try and fit them!

I've got a Haynes manual, but I may well be back on here for advice! haha

Brakes were delivered today. I'm aiming to get them fitted this weekend, but of course the weather is going to be §§§§§.

Well, got them all fitted! Couldn't have done it without the help from Emlyn.

Still plenty of work to do; car is very smokey and there seems to be an air leak from somewhere. We replaced the RIP kit and the hissing has persisted.

Car could do with a good clean and some TLC, but all in good time.

Pictures later...

Cheers you two!

The car really needs a good wash and some TLC (for example the bumpers).

Yeah, Emlyn has a 15G turbo that we can use to see if it is the turbo that's smoking.

So after Emlyn and I fitted the new discs and pads, my brake pedal was still rock solid (a symptom left over from when the car was tucked away back in August).

I'd spoken to Andyb1375 on here, and he suggested checking the brake servo vacuum hose that runs along the rear of the engine bay and into the brake servo.

Emlyn and I pulled that hose out to check it, and low and behold there was a large split in the pipe.

We got a replacement pipe, fitted it, et voila no more hissing sound and brakes work GREAT! New discs and pads all round, lets just say it's a good job I had my seat belt on as this thing stops really well now.

Still very smokey, got to swap the turbo over and that should sort that, then once my bloody Jag goes, it'll be time for an MOT for the Volvo.
