Finally got round to getting my volvo booked in at William A Lewis for a gearbox flush and oil change, the fluid is an off red/pink colour and I am told it could do with a change, £132 all in, considering i was dreading the cost i am feeling alot relieved! Me and auto volvo's have bad history and just hope this all goes smooth!
Also got some quotes to have panels resprayed from previous rough jobs, luckily the cost of all this means i can get it all done over the summerish period!

Sweet - I don't often recommend using Volvo specialists for things (actually never lol) but that's a good price and you know you'll get the right fluids in it and it'll be filled through the right hole.

It's always a relief when you come away with all your arms, legs and kidneys intact after a dealer quote !

It does depend who is on the other end of the spanner!

My local Volvo Dealer is dreadful but the next one in Canterbury is as good as the other is bad with long serving mechanics.

I had to ask him if that included the fluid at that price though, he did promise me it would lol!

I did say on sunday that it was cheap, glad I didn't have it done, as I think my box could be passed that point now, Lewis's have always been good with us and a couple of times the cars have been in the workshop with the technician's and come back out and no charge, I was still shocked when I got home both times that happened!!!

When are you having it done Mark?, I've got some springs here for Ben, perhaps you could take them back with you?

My local Volvo stealer at Chester quoted me that much FOR the fluid. Over £500 all in.

I have it booked in for a fortnight today but I might be up that way before then, will ask ben if he wants me to pick them up for him or if he wants to come for the drive!

I had to call them once you told me they quoted you that much, Ben had rung them previously for me and got a quote of nearly £400! That's why I was so suprised. There are a few garages round here that charge the earth and still don't do the job properly, it will be nice to have it done and it still working after the job is done!
