Getting rid of the D5 today! :(

As the title suggests, the missus has a new job and we need to running cars so ive sorted a deal for a C70 T5 on a X plate with 127k mot till december tax end of may and a mercedes A170 CDI on a 51 plate 130k om the clock mot august tax may for her, im going to be gutted to see the D5 go its been a really good car to me but needs must.

I think im doing better of on this deal what do you think?

personally not a lover of the A class - had a A140 as a courtesy car while my 530d was having gearbox rebuilt. Most awful car I have ever driven. C70 is cool though :)

The C70 is probably worth £1K and the Mercedes £1200.....A 2003 S60 D5 is most likely worth £2000 so imo you're on a winner - financially.

They fall over when it was 1st relieased, they were all recalled and sorted. Just watch for rust and electrical problems. Should generally sort the missus well id have thought.

My summation of the A-class I had as courtesy car:
gearbox - awful
engine - awful
seats - crippling
ride - painful
steering - QE2 would out corner it
brakes - carry an anchor, will stop it better
A/C - asthmatic in the dash blowing at you with a straw
central locking - would unlock but not lock
space - a loaf of bread is too much for it
motorway driving stability - better off walking
trim quality - well the passenger mirror glass randomly fell off when my missus shut the door, door wouldnt shut properly

to be fair your going to get these kind of comments when you mention any car but a volvo. i mentioned c5 and got exactly the same. am sure the merc will be spot on. every car has it flaws.
