Remote not working?

Howdy all,

Having trouble with the remote on my car I think? Came back to the car and blipped the button. Car did not open. Tried several attempts still no good.

Opened the car on the key all central locking is working fine. As soon as I opened the door the alarm went off. Assume everything is working as it should in this instance. Car was immobilised also.

Tried locking the car on the key and opening and getting it started but alarm and immobiliser still armed.

Called the AA who came and removed fuse 5. The car would now start but central locking and alarm not functional.

I have tried pulling the Battery and leaving for 30 mins. Still no Joy.

I put New batteries in the remote and this made no difference.

It would appear that the car is doing the right thing and the remote is not working. I have no idea how to check if the remote is putting a signal out.

Would the system need re syncing??

Have you tried reprogramming the fob ?

I had to reprogram mine and I put a thread on here of how to reprogram the fob.

To re-prog alarm fob, turn your ignition to position 2 five times watch the led and it should flash after the fifth turn(as i remember, was a while ago i did mine) when it does press the unlock/lock button on you alarm fob.

Have you tried reprogramming the fob ?

I had to reprogram mine and I put a thread on here of how to reprogram the fob.

Not reprogrammed it, Ill have a hunt around for the procedure. Many Thanks

no your alarm wont be going off mate, its very simple and you can program any 850 fob to the car this way

Just a quick update,

My central locking and alarm are now all fully functional.

It took me two times to do. You have to turn the key quickly.

if you want to know if a 850 fob itself is working, hold it next to your ear and press the button - you should hear a 'plink' sound.
