Hi, thought I'd sign up as this is probably most relevant to you guys.

Had a fair few modified RWD Volvos over the years, various 360s inc a 2ltr Turbo, various 240s inc a 2.3 Turbo, and a fair few 740 Turbos and 940 Turbos too.

The other week, for no reason barring it seemed fun, we got on with building (well, I did the technical advice and buying, my mate did most the mechanical work), this...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zX6OfyQMvLU

We literally only just started it in that vid, it had never turned a wheel before, and fuel and ign was set at a best guess to get it running, so it was low revs and low boost, but that will change soon as we have a rev counter, a boost gauge, and the wideband hooked up.

TBH it only took around a week and £1000 in parts (inc a buying mint T+T'd 940 2.3 Turbo with electric heated leather seats etc), so we've been pretty fortunate so far.

Hope you like it.

Very nice car, What ever happened to the ridiculous skyline with anti-lag you were building in the redline days? I remember reading a build article of the liner and about how you'd bought a 940 and taken the boost controller off

Whoa, nice, did it just 'happen' or was it due to some 'fun' LOL

Stav

It was already badly bent (as was most the rear end parts) as they can't handle the turbo V8 torque, but we straightened it out best we could so we could at least get there.
But it snapped after about half a mile or normal driving lol.

Time to build new custom ones me thinks

That's what's happening right now!

Looking at it, we think (hope lol) the alloy torque arms are pretty strong actually. They're H-beam and pretty thick.

We reckon the reason they bent/broke was because the subframe is stupidly weak and thin, it's like it was made of old bean cans, The subframe twisted so bad that it in turn twisted the torque arms, and blammo, they gone.

With a stronger subframe (we have a replacement and are reinforcing the crap out of it) the alloy torque arms might be just fine.

We will see....

I'm going to get a spare subframe and rods for measurements then build a tubular frame version and adjustable rods too .i will do this when I go to fit my other axle .the subframe is very weak and most peeps strengthen them and build new ones .

This is what we did regarding the rear subframe. MUCH stronger now!

He doesn't have 75 posts, so unfortunately he can't post it for sale.

Doesn't mean someone else can't post a link in the ebay thread though.

Absolutely sick to death of dreamers saying they want the car, will have the car, even bidding for the car, but not showing up, so now at £999 no reserve auction on eBay, just take it away.

Easy to find on Ebay, someone can kindly post the link for everyone else if they wish.

Gutted its came to this, going to lose a fortune, but ive lost all love for it thanks to these eejits.
