just wondered if anyone knows off the top of there head what size bit i need to do up the flywheel bolts, looks like a 12point torq but no idea what lol

Swap the bolts for some hexagon ones , i cant remeber what i used to get mine off

i've only just got them from the main stealer, & tbh at the price i paid i'm not going to throw them away lol

Just checked... its a 12mm torq socket
45Nm then 65deg

It is one thing I actually know where they are in my garage....Not sure what I'm going to do when I start reassemblimg stuff!

45Nm then 65deg

Whats with all this tightening to X degrees §§§§§§§§ !!!!!

Just tighten them to FT and put a some loctite on the threads :)

Yes but fairly tight Might be a bit loose ,or do you mean §§§§ing tight till the breaker bar breaks.

popped into Halfords to pick-up a torq bit, & found they do a "spline" kit that had the perfect bit in it

No need to worry about wheel bolts,I would worry about the calipers bolts .:hbomb:

To be honest the settings were ripped from Haynes... In reality I use FT rule of thumb too.... (Apart from Head bolts)

I haven`t had a wheel come loose in years :)

A lot of these newer bolts are one use only,and do stretch. Could be the way the factory tools work when they build these things up.
Do the still say threads dry or oiled up.
That's my guess ?.

There is probably plenty of info on the web for the reasons. My guess is to ensure that bolts stretch to a preset length within the elastic limit of the bolt.. but really I don't know... where's engineer when you need him..
