My 96 T5 is in for service at the mo, needing new discs and pads all round. After much head scratching and ordering of wrong sized discs I remembered I have the police spec 300mm discs on the front. These appear to be Volvo only parts (currently not in stock) so my question is, would it be much more expensive to go for some cross drilled or otherwise uprated discs, are there any available for these cars, and would there be much difference in cost over the genuine Volvo items. Anyone know of or recommend any fast-road discs or do I just go with OE ones

I think you will find the disks are 302mm. VT have them at a good price and the brilliant Ferodo pads to match. Did mine a few months ago and they are spot on. Be very wary of fancy drilled etc disks......they were on mine when I got it and they were verging on dangerous!!

Just put them on mine on the front - seem nice enough.

Got brembo's on rear and Zimmerman on the front with Textar pads. All from GSF, doddle to fit, although cos of a sticky OSF piston got a bit of vibration, but gonna fix that soon. Car stops much better than when had OE stuff on.

IMHO you don't need drilled or grooved disks. Bit of a gimic and they are more prone to cracking.
