View Full Version : Mini fix meet 14th April

We had Graham and Annemarie round today so I could fit some headlight levelling motors to his headlights (obviously) but Annemarie didn't bring Graham, she brought her new man:
http://i373.photobucket.com/albums/oo174/RSCougar/WP_000487.jpg

Anyway we got to talking about Graham's brakes, and he's decided (with some prompting from me) to change his rear calipers, discs and pads along with the front discs and pads, which we're going to do round here. So anyone that fancies a day out fixing cars (I'm sure we'll find other things to tinker with) we're having a day fixing cars, we'll also be doing a BBQ (unless the weather's bad then we'll be cooking in the kitchen) and they'll be beer and wine for those not driving, soft drinks for those that are. All welcome.:)

Was a great little meet guys. Thanks to Stribo and Relfski for the excellent hospitality and food and coffee. Sorry to Charlie for not catching him quick enough before he face planted the floor. And thanks to MRP, Mrs MRP, Little MRP, Judge, Graham and Anne Marie, Oblark and Friend for the barrel of laughs.

For anyone that thinks Graham is the slowest driver on the forum I will be honest and admit that today he took me for a spin in his ridiculously clean V70 and actually got the brakes smoking!!! (Think it was the brake cleaner that had got a little warm but it looked like he'd been giving the car some serious abuse) ;-p

Brake pedal is now firm and when the new pads wear in I'm sure stopping from high speeds won't be a problem.
Thanks to Steve (Sharkey R) for taking me out in the 'R' the offer still stands mate £2K and your car for mine :rotfl:

He was funny... kept walking round to each corner to look at the progress going "what's that? what you doing, what do you mean there's spare bolts?"

You should have seen his face when we unbolted the top of one wing to move the slam panel ;) hahaha He couldn't come round and investigate because they had him busy pressing the brake pedal for the bleed lol.

Hahahaha he's right though, Wayne needed me to help bleed the system....I just couldn't understand why the wing had to be unbolted to replace a headlight wiper motor, I'm sure he was dragging the job out tbh

Really?

None of the tyre places round will touch a puncture that close to the edge.
