Hi all,

I bought a set of subframe bush inserts from a member from another forum. They are a home made copy of the IPD inserts. Ive had really annoying knocks from suspension from the front and under my feet when driving. Looking under the car 2 of the subframe bushes sit right under your feet in the car . So made sense that these must be at fault. I think they were disturbed when i had the new gear box, angle gear and clutch fitted back in SEP 2012. Since then its just got worse and more annoying, sounded awful . So decided on this rainy day to finally get round to fitting the bushes. They took about 15mins per insert, just used 1xjack, 1x 18mm spanner and 1x18mm socket with breaker bar. Took the car out after and knocks have all gone, i drove hard, braked hard, cornered hard genrally tried my hardest to get a knock...... But nothing.

I paid £17.50 alll in for these. Great buy with great results. The car feels tighter and steering feels alot more precise

These are what im talking about if your have no idea what i mean

I didnt really look into them, just saw someone talk about them on here and i rushed to buy one of the last sets. They are great and so easy to fit. I used the IPD video for my install. I did raise the car slightly to help getting underneath, But the wheels were still on the ground if that makes sense. I hope you see the same results , i cant praise these little things enough

In the few miles I've done in my car since fitting them, I can confirm that they make a huge difference to the feel of the car, probably the best £17.50 I ever spent on the car.

I also have a set waiting to be fitted, quietly confident with the good reviews so far :)

Useful thread.

You report no real difference. I would guess its because your bushes were not that worn??? Mine i think were knackered and soft. 179k miles , hence why i have noticed huge differences. I dont know, just a thought.

no. The inserts are for Bonny, found out she got an advisory for some suspension bushes. So might as well powerflex it & fit those as well

Anyway, back to topic with a question....

What is the noise like with these fitted? Increase? extra vibration? Any good for an everyday car?

I think you're absolutely right - there didn't appear anything wrong with my subframe bushes so perhaps the inserts didn't make that instant, noticeable difference. Perhaps also being a diesel mask the benefits.

Even fitted to a D5, there's no extra noise or vibration worth noting....for just a little over £20, it's gotta be worth doing.

For me there is no extra normal noise, i didnt notice any vibrations. But when i accelerated it felt more tort through the steering wheel and slightly different. Difficult to explain to be honest. But the biggest difference is all the Horrible loud clucking has gone. It sounded like metal on metal before..... it was starting to worry me. Now i feel confident in the car and accelerating out of a corner on uneven ground is pleasant now as i dont felt like the wheels are going to fall off.

They make a BIG difference to the feel of the front end. I noticed a little more vibration, put top
and bottom engine mounts on mine are poly bushed.
