I've often thought if it would work adding paint into the plaster and killing 2 birds with one stone lol back on topic, I used them aem gauges they're pretty good do you have the aem afr guage?
Will you be up and running for York?

t5 pete
Tuesday 12th March 2013, 22:17
Yeah the car will deff be at york up and running i just hope ive got it fully run in a mapped yeah ive got the aem boost and afr i will get the oil pressure aswell but just getting the main things first the quality of the gauges and parts used with them are brilliant alot of money but worth it, i could have got them a little cheeper is i went for digital but im not too keen on digital gauges and preffere the analog to match the car

Hey tc the filler cap is just a old one i have and just fitted it to keep the neck clean as for cost lol i honnestley havent added it up i bought quite alot of other things aswell
rough geuss
£900 in machine shop new pistons and all new shells
£400 rods
all gaskets seals liquid etc £200-£250
water pump £ forgot
For a full new engine if your doing the work your self you looking at 2k the ammount of time it take to post and polish a head is unreal god knows what some one would charge.
Then theres new acuator, quarfe lsd, fuel inectors, gauges, fuel pump and lots more ive forgot about lol

Yep well worth it, these engines if looked after will last a very long time as long as they are not pushed too far.
The way i look at it is the car owes me nothing i have no intention in ever selling

Competition transmission services aka CTS aka www.gearboxman.co.uk (http://www.gearboxman.co.uk) blamed it on insufficient oil when drag racing. TBH in session I had no rebuttal, but subsequently thought of other reasons. I lost the case because I was not prepared to go further spending money chasing 1300 quid.

I spent 350 donor engine plus 1200 on the refurb plus 500 forged rods plus 500 forged pistons. The LSD was a PITA journey that cost me over 3000 quid in 2011.

The rebuilt engine looks great :)
I`m rebuilding my engine but I`m on a tight budget,
rebore block £180 (being bored out to 2.4)
Pistons £90 (from a V40 T4)
Rods £215 (from blackbeast)
And I`m doing rebuilding the head :)
