Hi gents any ideas on the best way to clean the inside of the intercooler turbo change coming up as i know have it back from refurb thanks

I think he's had his turbo refurbed, and wants to clean his intercooler. ;)

Remove intercooler from rad pack.
Buy a bottle of gunk from halfords - rinse out with that. Re-install.


Or not worry about it. All intercoolers have a tiny hole in the bottom corner to allow the excess oil to escape.

Thanks for the reply gents one more thing is there a gasket between the exhaust manifold and turbo can't seam to find one on volvowebparts found the one for turbo to downpipe any part numbers would be helpfull thanks

no - that's why volvo manifold t3 stamp has the raised ring. no gasket required. I have a jap manifold if you want?

850's had gaskets but v70's didnt you dont need one in any case

Sure it was the other way around, later cars got the gasket

Jap manifold will flow (nearly) as well as an S60R - and is cheaper. Given that you already have the turbo off - seems sensible to change it if you have the opportunity
