What's the difference between HLM 304 and MTE stage one?

I have an HLM 304 on my 854R at the min, but is there any difference between this and an MTE stage one map?

overall power is about the same, but the build up is smoother

Not sure about the stage 1 mte but my stage 2 dosent hit full boost till after 3000 rpm alot smoother map tham the 304
