Stem seals are easy, especially with a pneumatic valve closer, no need to take the head off.

You'd think someone that drives everyday would be more sympathetic on the machinery.

Ive just got an s70. I always see threads saying where are all the good r's as an owners club, arent we meant to go to extreme measures to keep them alive?

You should just sell it to someone cheaply that would keep it alive and cherish it.

You could always do a lease to buy ?

Depends on the condition of the rest of the car ie body panels and interior, if they are mint it may be worth doing the work imho.

These don`t cost £750 if u buy an O.E. quality and all can be done by yrself.I wish u were closer.I done a lot more on my ex s70r and spent less than that.
Rear disks +pads £75
Turbo control valve if u mean an sbc as low as postage cost
Handbrake cables £50 max for the pair
Wheel bearing £50-85 depends
Exhaust welding is nothing.

I'd definitely source cheaper O.E. quality parts. Surely a TCV isn't a M.O.T. failure.

Radiator and wheel bearing to me is prob only £100 sourced correctly..... not the £387 quoted. The list of things for the Mot wouldnt frighten me, i would think a couple of hundred tops. Even tyres can be cheap. I went to my local tyre place and got 2x 225 40 17 Toyo Proxy's with 6mm tread (part worn) on both for £60 fully fitted.... There are ways of cutting costs

My stem seals were goosed on the Red 855, actually dried out and welded to the valve guides, sent the head to a machine shop after i snapped a valve guide trying to remove a seal!
Then i ported and polished the head, this is now on the fresh engine ready to go into blacky. Valve stems are a pitta

They can be easy on some cars but I wouldn`t count on that tbh.
