Had a little search on this forum and VOC but cant seem to find the definitive answer.

How often? Time scale/miles?

My car had it last done at 147k miles in 2008. Its now on 171k so mileage not the issue just the time frame.

Autodata says every 80k or 96 months if that's of any help.

Cool.

No need to worry about it for the time being then.

Will check its condition when I get a chance.

Thanks

I was told by the local stealer 100k or 5 years, (although he also said they recommend 80k) whichever happens first. Would have thought 8 years was pushing it a bit on the timescale.

not really- newer cars are 90k or 10 years.

My Citroen C4 is 150k !!!!. Won't be leaving it that long though, it's already on 110k and I'm squeaking a bit !

It's the tensioners most likely to seize and cause you a headache if they weren't done on last belt change with that sort of mileage, then it'll shred through a belt in no time. I got a set of pulleys n tensioners for about £60 from stealers.

No way I'd leave it 8 years, let alone 10!
