V70R key....?

Can anyone tell me if they have a coded key & transponder? I have only one key & its the rubber sealed unit so can't take it apart. I'm having an alarm immobiliser fitted next week & would like a spare key with my spare fob.

Yep, coded with a transponder ring in the steering column.

Why have an alarm/immobiliser fitted when the car already has one?

As I have no remote central locking fob & the Volvo alarm has been disconnected. An old school mate is fitting a total closure for me mates rates. Cheers.

Hope your mate knows what he's doing, those things can spit their dummy when you start messing with the immobiliser.

You`ll need the steering and ideally the door lock with it.I have it with 2 keys.

Why not get a Volvo remote fob and code it to the car.

Then reconnect the volvo system.

Don't forget to tell the insurance co as well,then they will ask for the Certificate of fitting Buy a registered fitter.
If the factory one has been removed/not working.
