Hello guys,
I ordered a clamp for my exhaust to join the front and rear pipe with the
Box together as the old one.....
Was the mother of all clamps
and fall off when I looked at it.

Tryd to fit the new one, ordered for my car but it is to big?

I been told the late 850's having the same exhausts as the v70's.

Is there any difference and they are thicker in diameter?
The clamp I have, seems to big and not lifting the both ends up
to stay straight.

Also leaving a little gap which makes nasty noise.

It is a bigger clamp as the usual ones you can buy for cars so I assume
it is the right part, just don't lift both ends up to get straight and it will
not seal the both ends together.

Is there any other way to hold them ends together or seal it up.???
.
Or is there any special sealing material which did not come when I
ordered the clamp?
Or is there different diameters and they sen me the wrong one?
Could it be I have the wrong clamp? V70 later Modell or 850 ?
I defently ordered for a 1998 v70 petrol 2,5 non turbo FWD.
That what it says on the order form and bill.

Trying since 3 days to seal this thing -every day after work 1 or 2 hours
under the bloody car, slowly having enough of the whole thing.

Forgott, I can't see there is any hangers from the manifold to the box
between. Could it be there is some rust away what I would need?
The cat seems to rest on a plate under the car when the clamp comes out?

Thanks

Are you using any exhaust putty? Which part of the exhaust are we talking about - from the DP to the front section or further back. :stupid: a few pics would go someway to helping us. From my experience exhausts are usually held with 2 half moon clamps - is that what you have?

Yes that's the ones.
Behind the cat to the box.
It only has this joint as the whole back incl box is one part.
This half moon clamp is not sealing the both pipes up and also not straighten the whole thing up.
So where they join it hangs down and the cat is lying on some kind of protection plate mounted under it to the bottom of the car.
Sorry pic impossible as the snow is to high.
I don't have a garage !

you need some exhaust putty - comes in a tube that fits into a standard trigger based squeezer - like the bathroom sealant tubes.

Thanks, I tried that.
Just ordered another clamp.
Seems the v70 in my range had 2 different sized exhaust when they came out
One with 50-54 mm diameter and the other with 60 mm.

Seems I have the 50-54 and the the clamp came was for a 60 mm.
So it would never clamp it proper together, therefore the both parts are not straighten properly up and seal.

I see what's happened when the new clamp arrives.

Meanwhile I made last night out of some old aluminium kind of sealing insert, maybe this reduce the
Big clamp to the size I need and try it this way.
Maybe works, maybe not, means again under it and put the new one in.
Estimated 5 days to delivery.

Hope the snow melts away with the amount of salt I used to go under the car ;(
