awsome pictures.

i am slowly starting to come around to the scoop.

as already asked, how the hell is your paint that good?

Cheers Jamie... I think it's a combination of re-sprays and constant polishing throughout the year, she is hardly ever dirty mate :)

Ain't that the truth.....BUT Ian's is almost flawless :B_thumb:

The money is on it's way to your Pal Pal Account Steve! :B_thumb:

Lmao.... great reply Neal :)

I've got to say your car does look stunning in the photos

Thanks Martyn! :B_thumb:

Your car looks the bogs dollocks in the pictures mate, really stands out.
It's a credit to you and your (sometimes whacky) styling ideas and yes, the bonnet vent has grown on me and looks good sat there, snorting bumble bees.

Cheers mate, I know you were against it but you really need to see it in the Flesh to appreciate it..... your going hate my next Mod even more! :B_thumb:

Well like I said.... It's all downhill from here!

After months of research together with T5Ratheramusin we have come up with this Rear Spoiler.... What do you think Guys?

http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y474/Iancho68/627_zps92b61bb2.jpg (http://s1276.photobucket.com/user/Iancho68/media/627_zps92b61bb2.jpg.html)

Needs abit of Tweaking to fit perfectly...

http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y474/Iancho68/630_zps0ff7509e.jpg (http://s1276.photobucket.com/user/Iancho68/media/630_zps0ff7509e.jpg.html)

Looks good in someone's rear view mirror...

http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y474/Iancho68/638_zps605db5fc.jpg (http://s1276.photobucket.com/user/Iancho68/media/638_zps605db5fc.jpg.html)

I've got to talk to Nathan on Monday about fitting it as it's not a perfect join.... Reese was upset yesterday as Jason and Steve were taking the Pi$$ asking him about my wheels.... 'What's the colour code for Dog Pooh Reese'?

He was quite offended and was not really interested in spraying the Spoiler!

Not all the photo's loaded but you get the idea :)

Its been there since just before the Evo/Orme day and works better in real life than in pic's is what most have said. I thinks the rear spoiler will look ok when fitted but the wing angle needs dropping a lot to look right

Yes lads it will be Black in the Middle and Gold on the Edges and No it will not be lowered as I want the Height :)

Nathan stayed over for 2hrs last night fitting it... he had to think 'Outside the Box' to make it work, here is the result....

Good idea mate, I think it would look good.... as for the Spoiler being slightly wider, I have to agree with you it's what I wanted aswell. The problem is not everyone gives measurements with the Spoilers and I couldn't afford to keep buying until I found the right size... Very frustrating Jamie I can tell you!
This idea has been in the pipeline for years and believe me or not T5Ratheramusin and I looked at 1000's of Spoilers before finding something close to what I wanted. I'm afraid life is about compromise sometimes

I meant how's u mounting it now lol

Lol.... It has been Modified slightly and will be a combination of Screws and Glue, I will not be able to remove it again, ever!
I'm afraid most the Mod's from now on will all be None reversible... I'm also well aware that in some peoples opinion I'm ruining one of the best Saffy's in the country that could of possibly been a Real Show Winner.... For that I do apologise but this Volvo was always going to be 'Different' :)

Slike when there was a pic of yours and another saffy just looked like the other one was missing a scoop!

What I think u should do now is get the roof black to suit the spoiler. ...
Also you mirrors. Maybe go back to saff or get them in real carbon. Either way they should be glossy ;)

Must say pics do not do your car justice its better in the flesh, its a Marmite car as they say but I like it overall, think the only thing id say needs doing now is level the rear skirt with the rest of the car but other than that I like that you are making it unique and different even if I'm not a fan of some of the changes my self.

No nothing mate at the moment.... it just becomes too expensive if I try to do the inside aswell :)

I know Liam, I know.... It's not everyone's cup of tea but I'm trying to do the Mod's tastefully and I'm not taking it all too seriously :)

Cheers Stew, that's one of the things on the Long list mate, it does need bringing into line with the rest of the car and hopefully next year this will be rectified! :)

Not yet Andy... Reese (Paint Sprayer) is dragging his heels slightly but it's giving me time to price up getting the roof done in Black. I will try and get a quote today or tomorrow and see if I can get it done before the spoiler is fitted :)

Well things are finally moving again.... I had a set of Spare Pegs Lying around and have decided to have them re-furbed in Satin Black to give the Car a more 'Sporty' look.

As you can see from the Pic yesterday the Spoiler still isn't done, I have booked the car in today to have the Roof Sprayed Black so the Spoiler can be fitted.

Everything should be ready by next Friday the 6th of December as I've got to go to my brothers Wedding in Shropshire on the 7th.

I like this black roof but how come you opted for paint other than a wrap?

The alloys are awsome the place I got my wheels done at have just started doing this colours now :( I might be refurbing a set of 17" pegs next year so I think I will go for satin ones then.

Cheers Martyn, the Wrap would be about the same Price £250 for Wrap, the more I thought about it the more I liked the idea of Paint. No messing about in a few years worrying that it will start to peel and I can still enjoy Polishing.

As with everything Martyn the Pictures do not do the Wheels Justice they really do look good... I just wanted to do something different. You will not be unhappy with the result mate :)

i've got to be honest Ian i'm not feeling it mate, i hope you're happy with it but it's not for mate bit ott,

That's all I want is your honest opinion mate

To be honest, it does look better in the flesh, it looks a lot worse in the pictures.

Thanks Colin... It's a Bit like the Bonnet Scoop, nobody liked that either until they saw it in the Flesh.

I think it looks very different Ian, like nothing I've seen before.
For the direction you've taken I think it could've looked a lot worse!!
It looks like it's going to eat my kids so you've got what you wanted.
I like it & think it's gonna look awesome on the 19's. :)

Cheers Dave it could of looked much, much worse! lol
I like the sort of Square Boxy look it has now and I did
finally get the look I wanted... How is yours btw?

Scoop is going to be functional when I get a chance to make a duct for it ;)

This was very kind of you to Offer Colin at least the Scoop will make more sense

I've seen the scoop and it's not that bad, liking the black roof.

Thanks mate you will have to see it in the Flesh again soon to really decide

Black roof looks good along with the roof bars, I think the roof spoiler is too high and I would move the number plate back to its original position ;)

The spoiler does look too high mate but that was the look I was going for, I'm just a little worried that I have given it a 'boyracer' look which is what I didn't want!

doh...... really sorry ian, but that spoiler is f*** horrible lol. number plate would be better where it should be, although i cant talk as mine is on the wonk lol

Cheers Gav lol.... I'd rather you be Honest than lie bud, hopefully one day you will get to see it in the flesh and still think it's horrible! lol

Think that's the first time I've seen the car dirty.. Lol

It is Andy, the 1st Dirty pics lol I had to clean when I got to Shropshire and now it's as bad again. Winter driving eh.

Have to agree with Gav, it wouldn't look any worse if you nailed a Cosworth whaletail on the back. :(

Thanks Steve.... Now there's an Idea!

Yes mate my Freelander won't go much over 100mph, but good to see you, I was on my way back from Chester and was looking out for you as I knew you'd been in Shropshire lol... Always smiling and the car looks good mate.

You looked well Happy too mate!
I would of Stayed with you but the wife shouted "STOP RACING"!
That soon slowed me down... even quicker than the ABS! lol

Everytime I look at your car it just screams at me for a black interior!!! cream just doesnt work with everything else on your car lol

It's funny you should say that Martyn... I looked high and low for a Cream interior! Black just didn't do it for me lol

Like to see it in the flesh again BUT from looking at the last few pics - your gutters need cleaning ;)

Lmao... I will tell my Dad mate, he should be ashamed of himself!

The car looks good as a package Ian, it's not my kind of style but it all goes together well. The spoiler does look high, maybe different in real life!

I was never sure about spoilers but there is one on the Shark and it looks alright. The car is pretty stable at speed not sure how much of that is down to the spoiler tho :)

I used the pics of your car to explain to our lass what I was thinking about doing with my headlights & grill.......women are meant to be good with colour matching........my existing ones look a bit tired but I don't want to go to far away from standard. Maybe just replacing the glass in the headlights and either fitting an egg crate type or spraying the existing grill partially black will do the trick.....

In my opinion it does look a little high thnk it would look a bit better if it followed the line of the roof but at the end of the day its your hunk of metal and if it fits the look you were aiming for then no one elses opinion matters. I like the roof, very nice paint job and the wheels look great. Get that scoop functional though. As always you have a very nice V70 Ian and it definatley portrays your self very well even if it is in gay gold. Hope to see it in the flesh at a meet after xmas sometime or failing that at our annual pilgramige to the EVO triangle.

I've got to be honest the Spoiler isn't really that bad in the Flesh Guys it kinda flows with the car the photos make it look worse :)

Driving along the motorway I have never seen so many drivers slow down to look at it, even women were looking which is unusual.

It does grow on you eventually! :D

Now about this damn number plate lads... There were a lot of Police about the other day and I was having to drive right up behind other cars too hide it...

Am I breaking the law? and if so I'm sure I read somewhere that my insurance would be invalid?

I don't think the location is the issue Ian regarding your plate - it'll probably be the angle. You could make some little brackets to make it slightly more vertical I suppose.

I reckon it's borderline of whether an Officer would issue a FPN or just give you a verbal. It does give them the excuse though to check over the rest of the car ie tyres etc.

Exactly what I told Ian, I'm not saying there is anything wrong with your car mate, but why invite a 'once over' if anything your always worrying and once stopped they can waste a fair bit of your time.

Just hurry up and paint the rest of the car black, one less gay gold had got to be better. Ha ha ha

You can come and clean the windows Ian! Yeah I've thought about that, the Number plate is much smaller so there is no give in it.

Well July proved to be an expensive month.... I spent a £1000...

Since putting the New Rad on in Feb, I've still been loosing coolant. Tried tightening up all the pipes under the bonnet or putting new one's... Nothing.

Well after months of messing about it turned out to be the Heater Matrix, the two front footwells were going Orange.

My local Garage wouldn't touch it but told me D&A Auto's in Witney would do it (Volvo Indie)

Great guy called Derek who was really helpful, I asked him to also check the front suspension as the ride was not so great.

Ended up having...

Two Rubber Top Mounts

Two Wishbones

Heater Matrix

New Brake Pads all round

Oil Leak sorted

And I got him to fit those 4 White Plastic things that Swampy makes....

The Ride is totally different now, a real pleasure to drive.

This week the Prop Shaft is Playing up and making noises, so more expense unfortunately.

This week I also took the Carpets out and found them to be wringing wet with coolant underneath the waterproof layer....

Managed to Power Wash all the Coolant out but you can see how much...

Talk about being slightly brassed of at the mo would be an understatement!

Good or bad, an update is an update Ian and it's nice to see you're still with us!

Bit of a bummer about all the problems you're having tho mate but they don't stay perfect forever and a little TLC now and again goes a long way. I quite like the pink carpets tho :)

Been driving me mad for months Graham I can tell you... The labour for all that was only 4 and a half hours at £50 an hour, Derek really knows his stuff and is as honest as the day is long.

Ride is a lot smoother now and steering is much tighter so I was really pleased until the Prop Shaft started squeaking and groaning, serious money again.

All-in, you've not had anywhere enough trouble to warrant scrapping what is probably the best saffy on the forums these days. Although some have broken good cars for less.. (mentioning no names ;) )

While you've been away, the sweed has got herself a GWE downpipe and is now considerably quicker, much to the annoyance of the driver of a 2002 M3 who couldn't pull away from me last sunday :)

He had to change gear twice, I didn't get out of 4th. ;)

The constant checking of his mirror and the noise from the exhaust said he was flat out (I've been around cars long enough to tell when they're giving it death)

I wasn't gonna catch him but he wasn't gonna lose me either.
