Can't get the key out!!!!

Hi all,
I have got a 99 V70 which unfortunately refuses to let the key out of the ignition.

It has done it once before and I found that it was because the reverse button on the gearknob wasn't fully out, but this time it is and it still won't release the key.

The key is stopping just fractionally before the last marker on the barrel face.

I have given it a good dose of WD and a fair bit of jiggling but to no avail, anyone any ideas.

i take it its an auto? you need to press the little button next to the gearstick and move the gear handle up and down a couple of times and put it hard into park

no problem mate its a built in safety device same as you need your foot on the brake to move the gearstick too
