Well, at last Friday is here and we have just returned back from the local main dealers with a Very nice V50 1.6D SE/LUX drive-e in chameleon blue, the mrs's is concerned the her dirty diesel will not be wanted here. I said no it is a performance volvo, it's nimble and quick off a roundabout and 60mpg, think nearly that's enough performance for a daily, will try to get some good pic's up tomorrow

you can get HLM to remap it - give it a bit more grunt & improve the fuel economy

Let us(me) know what you actually get in MPG... Thinking of jumping back to a Volvo, but the day to day version will need to be an Eco-Volvo... (the 850 is going to be the weekend evil one.. :)

Well just to keep you all happy here's a couple of shots when we went to look at the car, not that it took too long to decide and I have to confess it's Jayneybabe's car really and she never drove it until she picked it up and she is smitten, but is still saying that it would never completely replace her V70R AWD, But Amelia ( as she's named her ) did have a couple of kerbed wheels and damaged tyre, which have been re-furbed and re-tyred beautifully and a trip through the Volvo bodyshop she looks the business. Hopefully years of trouble free economical motoring

Nice car mate but what you doing with the v70 now

Tucking it in the garage whilst we way up the options and save up and fix it, did think to make it manual, but I would like to keep as near orginal as possible

you can get HLM to remap it - give it a bit more grunt & improve the fuel economy

Will be looking into that thanks Dave

Looks the business Adrian and Jayne.

Very good choice indeed.

Like Wayne I would be interested to know the results of real life MPG with the quoted figures.

The old v40 1.9 td was a strong machine but the v50 is surposed to be not as good .but that might be the 2 litre one .but I do like these alot .and my next everyday car more than likely be a v50 r design

Again thats debatable ;-)

I'd like my mrs to get 2004> s40. A T5 preferably, but the insurance is a bit high for her.

as you said it's your local main stealer, but to be fair to them I've only had one small problem there in 15 years

Congrats Adrian, you will be saving some money on fuel now and i bet the ride is alot smoother!

Congrats Jayne, its her new car and if I'm very good she might let me drive it and it is a pleasure to drive. With the money saved she might be able to afford the new lights for the back of the V70R AWD

Well thank you, we will be putting the figures on to V70Graham's Milage and Expenses thread http://www.vpcuk.org/forums/showthread.php?48046-Mileage-and-expenses-in-2013

At least it is a Volvo.;)

Looks nice mate, even if it runs on the fuel of Satan.
Runs very almost silently on the devils fuel :firedevil

Jayneybabe would still be welcome here if she had bought a BMW lol

There's more chance of hell freezing over...lol, she's volvo smitten and knows she's always welcome here, she's still got her V70R, I've just got to fix it :frown:

looks ok but get it mapped it will give you more mpg and much more boost

will be looking into that, to see how much more we could possibly save, not to worried about extra boost, as we have the other cars when we want to go for a blast
