I have been trying to diagnose low boost condition on the C70. Anyway to cut a long story short I fitted a bleed valve to see if the Boost control solenoid was the cause of the problem, guess what? It has cured it, I have set it at 10psi and the car is now performing brilliantly, it boost slightly quicker and holds 10psi right across the rev range. I have not attempted to wind the boost up in any way as firstly that was not the point in fitting it and secondly I don't want to melt a piston!
Does anyone know what the standard boost should be on a 1999 ME7 C70 T5?
I thought it was 10.5 psi but I have heard anything between 10 and 12psi
Also would it be worth fitting a MBC and set it to standard boost as it's cheaper than buying a new BCS from volvo!
I will take the bleed valve off as I understand it is working the turbo harder for the same level of boost and don't want to knacker the turbo!
Thanks
