V50 2.0 Diesel.......what to look for and avoid???

[I want a T5]

My boy is growing up and is looking at getting a Volvo estate. We spoke about a T5 like mine and he's looking more for comfort and economy and fancies a V50 diesel with a upgrade to the chip or suchlike.

He noticed a smart one on eBay and asked me what he should look for. I havent a clue other than the usual mechanical things that wear out as well as the car having as good a history as poss.

What else should we be looking for with a small diesel V50? Are they a good buy nowadays? He's looking to slend around £3k.

If the highish mileage doesn't put him off it may well be worth a look, leather and a nice colour too.
