Hi all

Im just getting through all the small little jobs on my car and the next thing i need to get done is the N/S rack arm. Not sure if its the inner, outter or both. But i got quoted £244 from MRG Volvo dealer per side. That included a £70 wheel alignment. Have any of you had this work done before?? Im looking to take it to my Mate who is VW specialist. But will charge £30 per hour. Imjust wondering if its worth doing both sides and if there is a big difference in labour/parts from doing the outter , innner or both. I believe its the inner as i can shift the wheel side to side and the play looks like it comes from the inner part.

Also i have a clunking coming from suspension. I think its the top mount as its loud and when its on uneven road especially if i accelerate out of a round about and the exit is uneven. Mind you, ive looked on youtube and a guy was doing a road test and later found out that the knock was from a worn engine mount. So im thinking it could be that too.

Any advice would be great. Im hopefully taking it to him tomorrow, so would like be clued up abit on potential things to look at.

Thanks in advance to all you very useful peeps. I know i can reply on you all when im in need.
