Anyone used these guys before or can comment on their quality ? I rebuilt my 15g a few years ago but the guys I got the kit from that time don't seem to be around any more.

Not seen that one on ebay before mate.

Had a kit from these guys before, UK based, no problems (just need to state flatback or superback)

And their website

Also another UK one

Also had a kit from Kinugawa Turbo, although it says UK I think its sent from Japan (a long way at least). Mine came from Japan took a couple of weeks but it arrived ok.

Thanks bomb, like the look of the nkkturbo kit, price is good and they've got a superback kit. Didn't see that one when I looked !

Interesting, how easy it to rebuild a turbo?

No worries bud. I searched for TD04 kits, the sellers sometimes don't go into detail (like TD04HL)

Its quite easy as long as you're careful as the compressor and turbine blades are fragile. The only problem is the whole assembly is balanced during manufacture and after a rebuild should be re-balanced. The DIY way is to mark position of the compressor wheel and the turbine wheel and try to match it when reassembling the turbo. But this is obviously risky.

Theres a couple of guides

I was lucky when I did my 15g, by the time I realised I hadn't marked it, it was already apart. Caution to the wind it's done 80,000 odd miles now and still going strong !

I too have done mine with no rebalance and no problems (not as many miles, around 20,000)

Are all these kits much the same or is there one that stands out or that most people have used?
