Hi all,
Got a strange problem with the tailgate locking and unlocking now.
When I lock the car with key or fob the tailgate unlocks and vice versa.

I disconnected the electrics to the tailgate when unlocked and then unlocked the car hoping
It's just out of sequence then plugged it back in but it's still doing it.

Any ideas.

Hello mate ;)
I'm sure we tested that...?
You need to swap the wires to the solenoid and that'll sort it. I had the same problem when I swapped my tailgate (that had your new loom in it) for my new one (from a 2000 reg)
I have a pic somewhere....

Right...

Unplug this wire and swap the 2 connections (yellow and pink) round - job done :D

Ok, I could manage that but I need you to be more specific.
What colour are the wires I need to swap, there are 4 for the tailgate I think?

See pic mate ;)
There's 3 wires, 2 on one row, one on the other. Swap the two in a row around :D

Errr....

Actually, I think it's the two that are next to each other that need swapping round...

(you won't do any harm if you get it wrong)

Brilliant.
Will do it tomorrow when we have some daylight again.

Ok, had a play with the old loom.
I managed to pull the wires out with pliers.
Is there a better way to do it as I used quite a bit of force and
Am worried I may snap the wires?

The metal connector pins that the wires are crimped into can be removed from the plug, You'll need a tiny screwdriver to lift the plastic blade that holds it in.

Alternatively, cut the wires and use some connecting block to join them the other way round and wrap it all with tape.

Hi mate,

Changed the wires round.
Yellow to pink, didn't work.
Then changed the other two brown to grey. Still no joy:splat:

Is the solenoid operating?

I have a spare working lock should you need it.

Just got back from the pictures.
Well that 3 hours I won't get back.

As I said before the door does lock and unlock but out of sequence with
Main doors
Wire colours are pink and yellow on same line and brown and grey on the other line
( these are next to each other)
On my old loom it's pink and grey on same line and then 2 yellows next
To each other on other line.

If its still working but going the wrong way then the right wires still havent been swapped. I cant tell you which colours to use because I honestly don't remember. Put everything back the where it was and ill go look at mine when I get a sec.

Hi Martin,
Sorry I've not been back to you, had a busy few days.
Car failed MOT on Tuesday, nothing serious thankfully other than running
A bit rich ( failed emissions).
Was in Oxford all day yesterday so haven't had a chance to look at tailgate.
Will fiddle with wires tomorrow and let you know the outcome.
