When i had my R a few years ago i was mainly on t5d5 and alot of people would go on about having the injector ultrasonicly cleaned or whatever it is, i've just got a set of blues ready to go with new turbo etc and wondered whether its a worthwhile thing to have done or is it just a gimmick, seems like a sensible idea to me but thought i'd ask for your opinions.

If its something i should do, who would you recommend?

Cheers. Simon.

it is very worthwhile mate, the chances of old injectors squirting at the same level is slim

You could always have your engine 'Terracleaned' it's quicker and there is no risk of damaging your injectors when taking them out etc, read all about my experience here :

Its worth doing if the injectors have never been cleaned. A set of injectors from a 1998 vehicle (for example) will have had 14 years worth of crud through them

Heres a vid, not the greatest, but you get the gist.

Terra clean gets my vote as well. I have had two 850 T5's done and 850 T5-R done and all three have greater throttle response and lower emissions. One of the cars emissions was straight out fail at idle but after terraclean sailed through.
