Hi people.
This is a long shot but maybe someone knows more about it.

I want to change the wheels on my V70.
But . . .
Volvo wheels are expensive. Lol.
Even on Ebay.

I would like to exchange the 195 to some 205 or 225s.

My question is: what wheels from what other cars would fit on the V70 1998 estate ?

For example I had Toyota wheels on my V6 rover. Same as my Audi Endet up with Mazda alloys.

I was lucky on both as all details was given by a garage which was specialist in that.
Is now closed.

Would anyone know the specs of what I can fit on my car or a website to figure out what I can use please?

Just looking for a bargain. Cheap as pos.
And there loads 5stud wheels around which getting sold for sometimes 20 quit.

Thanks

the Volvo pcd is 5x108, which doesn't give you much choice (some Peugeot, Ferrari & Jag). But i have seen Vauxhall wheels on a Volvo which are 5x110, i assume they used tuner nuts

what wheels have you currently got if your only running 195? Standard T-5 size is 205

Probably those 16" things the P2 came with in the crossover year. They were pretty small.

have a look here it'll show you some choices ;)

but of course there is other factors to think of other than stud pattern ie offset, rim diameter...

i found a webside month back which gave me exactly the describtion of every car and what fit on it.
cant find that anymore.

currently, since i bought the car it has 195 r 15 on it.
original volvo alloys but just to small.
unless i can fit more rubber on these.
may ask a tyre bloke.

the tyres i have on are nearly new, so i was going to keep them for spares if needed.

I'm guessing it's a P1 then?

Ameltheas often come up cheap, 225 x 45 x 17 and look great on P1 stuff and good tyres are 170 quid a pair.

Shame ameltheas don't look good on P2 cars (without extensive custom paintwork)

I can tell you from my own experience that if you go as wide as 225 on the tyres, you will need blue steering lock stops or you'll damage your wheel archliners. They're only cheap and easy to fit, but lose a lot of lock.

I bet the turning circle still won't be as bad as a P2 eh' Mark lol.

I can remember that the p2 lock was pretty bad, but then a p1 with the lock stops I think will be about the same. Not woman friendly if our other halves intend to drive our cars.

thanks guys.
the alloys look like the ones in the picture. or at least similar.
ben at a garage today and got some advise.
it is right. getting bigger wheels on the p1 - i have to watch the offset and the lockstops need replacing.
ther is the problem with bringing the caravan out the drive. yuk.
car and van just going around the corner without taking the hedge out over the road.

on the wheels, i would be able to get 205's on / maybe even 215s ( which again expensive and rare on 15s ) and combinated with 10 mm wheelspacers it would solve the purpose of better cornering and stabilisng the car on higher speed in corners specially on country roads.

i may go for this option as i found spacers for around 20 quit.
tyres - well, need to see a mate who knows a tyreplace. maybe he takes them 195s on and gives me a good deal for 205s at the end.

otherwise i have to go for following options ( which - again - looking at, a maybe expensive playground. )
- Volvo V70 ( off course )
- Volvo 850 5 stud
- Volvo 960 ( very rare )
- Volvo S60 and S60 r
- Volvo V70 r
- Volvo V70 x county
- Peugeot 605 1990 untill 1999
- Peugeot 607 after 2001
- Citroen XM 1989 untill 2000

they options very limited and checking them out, not the cheapest going again.

i dont have a turbo, or high performance vehicle, engine got only 173 bhp, bodywork is very good for its age, engine sound, interior standart velour ( not leather ), so going for expensive parts would just manage having a enemy in the house which seen a car as only transport from a to b. even she got my ex v40 with all the tunning and modifications i done. lol
