just remember that i had no bonnet catch and as a result my car was off the rod for 5 weeks and is going back at the end of this months for it's third time to strip the paint of and re apply, which they will keep doing until the ££££££s get it right !!!!!

i so wish i had put it back on :(

LMAO

I do feel a little nervous about not having it there.

But if for any reason it does come up and bend it and half, then I'll just use it as and excuse to go for an EVO vent

+ if those numptys had made sure it was shut in the first place you would never of had a problem

I Was Concidering Spending On A New Front Grill For Mine, But Was Put Off By The Price That They Are Wanting! I Was Going To Go For A Black Grill On Front Of The T5 Estate.
Then I Had A Brain Wave, For £5.99 I Bought A Tin Of Mat Black Enamel Spray Paint From Your Well Known Leading Car Spares Place. Took The Grill Off (10 Sec Job), Gave It 3-4 Coats With The Stuff (masking The Diagonal Chrome Stripe & Volvo Badge) Very Quick Drying, And Looks Brill!!!

Mrsmopp
Wednesday 19th January 2005, 20:08
Which is exactly what I have done with mine Camo (well, Steve has!) Cheap and very effective!

Unless the surface is rubbed-down well to give it a decent key, won't this kind of painting flake and chip very quickly? Or do you both touch it up at regular intervals?

Mrsmopp
Wednesday 19th January 2005, 21:09
Steve has had his painted since he had it (which is over 12 months I think) and although it has got a few stone chips in it now it still looks good - it'll need touching up come the summer I would think.

I've just noticed the headlamps/sidelamps on this car too - are they different (and UK legal) or is it my imagination?

These lights are DOT approved.

They are called `Jewel' lights and cost £254

http://www.vptuning.com/parts/catalog/images/headlamps.jpg

And corner lights for £64

http://www.vptuning.com/parts/catalog/images/blinkers.jpg

They also do a smoke version for £330 which includes the corner lights too

http://www.vptuning.com/parts/catalog/images/darkened_850_jewel.jpg

And side repeaters which go with either set for £25

http://www.vptuning.com/parts/catalog/images/850_bulb_holder.jpg

All prices subjet to VAT and shipping

Ah, knew you'd come up trumps Bracer - but you didn't give a source. I looked at partsforvolvosonline.com but they didn't seem to have them.

Somebody buy a set and let us know if they're any good please!
Would they pass our MoT? ~ not sure if spread/pattern is nanny-state allowed...
