Puting window down today ,it decides to jump off the arm mechanism .The side window was replaced before i got it,been a botched job by the look of it .No retaining clip to hold one arm into the round bit in the window slider :jaw: Managed to put it back together in a fashion but puting window down and back up the glass drops slightly towards the front, manually pushing it back in arms is fine 'til you use window again. Is there anyway of adjusting the glass on the arms other than crudely trying to jam something into the mechanism or under the actual glass to raise it at one side :jaw:
This wont mean much to anyone unless they've had the same problem sorry.
Cars p!ssing me right off ,only had it a couple of weeks ,was hoping to be trying to improve its performance on my days off rather than doing serious stuff like this and jammed calipers etc etc...rant over :bog:

Had the same prob with my passenger side window. Took it t the specialist and he said it was a sod to fix an expensive. :slap: Being the passenger side, i just disconnected the motor as i'm normally the only one in the car.
Hope you have better luck than me.

I'm in the car glass trade, do you need a new clip? From memory is it a square plastic thing with a metal spring-clip thats missing? Done a few of these but not lately. This plastic mount and clip is shared with a number of other makes of car, I'm sure I've got a couple kicking round in the van if thats the part you need I'll be happy to send you one F.O.C :)

Hiya, thanks for the offer, the window sits in 2 blocks with a wheel in each which is connected to two arms (by the clips i think you mean) which in turn are moved by the window motor. The front clip was missing which is why it fell to bits yesterday, but managed to piece it back together making up another clip. My problem is with the the window up it doesn't sit in the frame right ,the glass/arm mechanism has dropped a few mm at the front so looking at it from in the car the glass doesn't go into the frame at the top to the rear of the door and at the bottom to the front.
Soooo the question is can the front arm which is connected to wheel in the block which the glass sits in be adjusted up a few mm or fit a spacer in the block some way to raise it .
Or getting the whole motor assembly from a breaker and replacing the lot :pants:
cheers Col
