the RIP kits were fitted to very early (1994) T-5's. Its simply changing the pipe routing the boost takes

I have a 95 t5. Mine seems to have the 1st type of pipe work. I thinks I need an rip kit. Would it aid it if the pipe going over the engine was heat wrapped

just going on guesswork, I would say the difference is marginal, as all the pics I see nobody has wrapped the intake/boost hoses, so I surmise that the possible gain outweighs the cost etc, Just a thought !!!!

Is that because they know that once you've tuned it, it won't be on the road much longer any way? :saythat:

think it worked out to 1.5foot shorter pipework, & as you say thats not measuring how straighter the airflow is. Everyone who's swopped from the later style to the RIP kit says the turbo's spool alot quicker
