Hi all. I would like to know if your s6 t5 2.4 starts up like this from cold. its done it from day one and thought it was starnge. just wanna know if everyones does it.

Yep my S60 is the same starts at 2000rpm then drops 1800rpm after 10secs,then down to 1200rpm them 750rpm
It's all to do with the emissions to heat up the catalyst.

i have an s60t5 mine never starts at 2000rpm. mine starts at 1000rpm then sits at 750rpm.

Mine starts at about 1200 and drops by 200 or so every minute or two, then settles at 675.
I suppose it depends on how up to date the software is as mine used to idle at 750 before a new DIM and software update.

Mine starts at 2000 rpm to. There a vid of lees cold start up on his motor

Thats spot on mate. My V70 2.4 T5 does it just like that.

Mine starts the same as the video, and it's a s60 2.4 t5 just like yours. My brothers 2005 s60 2.0t does the same aswel.

as long as its not just mine am ok. quite suprissed it does do it thought. that all say don't screw your engine from called and what does volvo do make you car sit at 2000rpm on cold. must be why it uese 0-30 oil to get around parts quickeley lol.
