Guys, i would like to know if anyone has exchanged his Beam Light Bulbs ( not the Driving Lights, the High Beam ) on his V70 P1 ?
i was thinking of 100 W H7 as i have to drive early mornings in the dark a bendy country road.
improving the light ???

just to clarify, the Spot / Beam Lights not the normal ones, so no worry of being blinded.

Just to know if it makes a significant improvement and can the normal lightcluster hold the heat of the 100 W ?

Thanks

with 100watt i really think the wiring will be struggling & get very hot with the current draw. I've got 55watt HID's in my mainbeam, & although they take a while to warm up the light from them is very good

I'm using cheap 100w eBay bulbs for high beam on my P2 with no problems. And yes - much brighter. ;)

I used to use 130W bulbs on my old 940, but had to upgrade the wiring as with normal 55W bulbs in it cooked the relay (but that was a flaw with the 940). If you put the 100W bulbs in you're effectively doubling the current draw.

Have you tried Osram Nightbreakers or Ring Xenon Ultimas? They can be had cheap off ebay (about £10 for a pair) and their light output is better.

But as Pedro has said if you want light then go for a HID kit, just takes a bit to warm up.

my dipped beam uses Ring XenonMax and that's nice and bright white.

I have a nice set of 80W H7 bulbs I got from Stephanevans, they're supposed to be quite good, which I've not used yet, PM me if you wanna try them :)

guess the HID Kit I looked them allready ) is a small amount on hard work to install. ?????
Looking the space behind the Light cluster ( more or less none ) means the whole Light needs to come out for it ?
plus i have a Van Batterie where the normal batterie was living now. bigger and loads more power but also less space left.
even the Airfilter intake had to move 2 cm to give it space.

And - can i use the HID Kit on the Standart Lights of the P1 ??

Plan was, to get the newer ones ( Black tinted ) but the Financial Sources are not uptodate before X mas. :(

i've squeezed 2 ballasts per side on my p2, so you should be able to do it on a p1
