tick tick tick

ive got a slight ticking noise on tick over, its not loud and it ticks over fine, just curious coz it sounds like its coming from the injectors, is that anything to worry about or is it normal?

Yeah it's quite normal. All the Volvo engines tick at idle, but you can normally only hear the ticking with the bonnet up.

the injectors do tick, so do the tappets especialy when it is cold or the oil level is low!

thats cool, oil level is fine, you can hardly hear it with the bonnet down and its not loud at all, just wanted to be sure, thanks for the help

I thought the hydrolic liffters ticked, simillar to old Vag stuff , its always is slighlty noiser on first start up then clears within seconds, Ive noticed this reduced by using magnatec.

Sounds like the tappets to me i thought mine was loud until Hamish at Vt had mine running next to another and then it sounded normal.
