Im wanting to get just over 300hp (flywheel) out of my t5 for now and was planning on using an angled 16t to get there as they can be had for pennies and dont really want the hassle of waiting for an 18 or 19t to come up. I know its unlikely i'll get just over 300 on a dyno with a 16t so is there anything a turbo specialist can do to get a bit more power out of it?

Any suggestions or advise, perharps another route would be most welcome.

Cheers. Simon.

Not sure of cost but you could buy any TD04 turbo and fit a bigger compressor wheel. The compressor housing would need machining for the wheel to clear. Large billet wheels to fit TD04 turbos are available that would see you clear 300 bhp easily with appropriate supporting mods and mapping. Billet wheels are light and spool a few hundred rpm lower than their same sized cast equivalent - you would effectively be making a very fast spooling 19t so rods would likely need changing. I would bank on £50 - £100 for an angled flange turbo and ~£200 for a billet wheel. The compressor housing machining I'm out of my depth on - I would have sent it to Owens but as they now supply a new billet wheel "19t" they may not take it on. Altiss engineering will machine most things and are based in the Midlands. Fitting the wheel should be DIY if you have serviced a turbo before but I would seek advice if you haven't. It would be a nice option if you decide to go ahead and bearing in mind 370bhp on a stock 19t has been achieved your goal is not too lofty.

i understood the turbo assembly would need checking & balancing if you changing/remove anything

Thanks for your reply, ive heard alot about owens so think i'll give them a call. I would get a 19t but they dont seem to come up for sale very often and even if i could get hold of one i'd still have it atleast serviced/rebuilt anyway.

Just the read the spec of your volvo.. What a machine!

Need the Volvo one Pedro, that one has the wastegate actuator in the wrong place. Think I found one before, but they cost more (typical eh)

You could get this one, but would need balancing.
