I'm looking at finally getting my saffy remapped. Choices seem to be HLM or RICA.
HLM is £300 and a 3 hr drive away for me, RICA is £450 and a 15 min drive to my local dealer.
Anyone can give me personal recommendations/experiences to help make a decision.
Also, has anyone local to me got a remapped c70 as I'm just curious to feel the difference before deciding to splash the cash?

Wayne

If this is a non-ME7 car then I believe the price is £150 quid from HLM. There is very little in it for off the shelf stage 1 maps. Every here will know that I prefer HLM, but if you make a day of it & go to Bromsgrove - you'll also get dyno sheets & they can sort out any issues with the car, should they arise & a chance to ask him why he sold his Saffy S70R LOL.

Sadly Dave, mine is ME-7 so double the price of the early ones ;-(

My advice still stands. Make a day of it.

MTE and Shark Performance are worth your consideration too. MTE have a very nice ME7 stage 1 map that can be supplied remotely. I've had a few stage 1's on your engine type. I haven't used Shark but based on their open and knowledgeable contribution to a few mapping threads on T5D5 they would be on my list. No idea about prices for either of these.

Ignore any riotously ambitious claims for peak power (I think only Rica and BSR are/were guilty of that). Stage 1's will all feel lively compared to stock but in my experience they are NOT all the same. Inferior ME7 mapping makes wheelspin difficult to control and leaves the top end feeling flat. The market may have moved on but in 2008 when I had my stage 1's MTE was night and day better than the others I tried.

he sold that cos he got a good profit on it, hard to say no to that, and i suppose he was getting beaten all the time at avon lol

I was referring to the opportunity to wind him up about it.
