I going to be ordering "parts for volvos" shock and spring lowering kit for my T5S estate but not sure if i have nivomats or not, how do i go about checking this?

It says on the webpage that i need to by a couple of extra parts if i dont have nivomats.

Cheers. Simon.

James, nivomats are self levelling shocks found of the rear and they require different mounts. Im sure someone self can add to that.

Being a povety spec 850 hopefully not then, i know my R definitey had them just not sure on this, fingers crossed it hasnt. Dont have any slabs to hand lol.

just have a look under the car and see if the rear shocks have crinkley ruber gater at the bottom. if they have the gaters then you have nivomats.

if it looks like any other shock then they probably are just standard shocks.

a nivomat rear shock is approx 4-6 inches in diameter with a larger rubber bellows over half if it.
a standard shock is only about 2-3 inches diameter with no bellows.

if you have nivomat now, then to changed to standard suspension you need to replace as well the springs (because nivomat ones are very thin as the nivomat unit takes most of the load) , the top mounts and the lower spring retaining cup/bolt thingy.

any car with volvo sport suspension option also had nivomat as part of it, and this is why some t5 and R saloon models also have it on. it is not necessarily only fitted to estates and AWD cars.

hope this helps.
