No, why would it?

I know I refer to the Saab scene a bit. But thats where I learnt my stuff.

I had a Saab 900 turbo. And many people said it was advisable to move the power band higher up the rev range. As it was kinder to the box. But on a 20 year old saab there was a much more punchy power delivery

Are we talking manual or auto? either way the box will handle 100bhp increase

Manual. Okay. Need to get that remap then.

How much power is the standard intercooler good too is it worth getting a fmic set up for 300 bhp.

the con-rods are the weak link on Volvo's, but the RIP kits were standard on 1994 T-5's so won't have any problems with it

More punchy power - compared to ?
Whatever the car which is being compared to, a shorter gearing or smaller hoses/turbo/exhaust pipe can create a different butt feel.

When I say punchy. I mean that there was an epic amount of turbo lag. Then every thing lannded at once. On the Saab. Which is what u love.

I find the power delivery in the t5 a bit more progressive. Which to me is more controllable and useable on real roads. As it is a td04 on a 2.3 compared to a garret t3 on a 2.0

The air in a RIP system has, correct me people if I'm wrong, around 14" less in distance to travel, hence quicker spool-up. The early T5's compressed air was prone to getting too cold in Sveeeden, so the piping was re-routed to enable the compressed charge to warm up a tad during its trip round the engine bay.

if your driving a standard Volvo t5 then that's why its smooth with the delivery.................wait until its mapped and see if you still have the same opinion ;)
