Well I fitted the front and rear components last night by torch light

Fit was pretty good and I only had to drill new mounting holes Job Done

This morning was the first chance I had to have a proper listen to them, and WOW very impressed, So much detail, control and staging ! I'm so glad I went for the full Alpine set now they make truly amazing products :worship:

How are you going to mount the subs?? What type of box you planning on using???

I'm going to make box to fit into the spare wheel well, it will have a fibreglass box rear moulded to the exact shape of the well and a MDF front baffle plate twin layer so the driver unit can be mounted flush.

The fibreglass will of course be lined with "Dynomat Super" once its thick enough to ensure good sound properties, and will be fully sealed enclosure.

Sounds like it gonna be good. Well worth spending time and effort in doing a good job as its the difference between a top notch system and a crap system. Epecially as youre using decent kit!!!

I've ICE'd out every one of my rides, and got pretty trick at it over the years, so it should come out ok :shifty: I hope so anyway

Ive had some prettey good installs too, dont tend to go overboard on the subs now as they weigh so much and take up space too. Also too many thieving scum around.
I had a huge bass install in my old Vauxhall, when i took it out the car went like a rocket. And the bloke i sold the kit too got it all nicked a couple of months later.

Yeah I only really wanted a 10" but I've seen this 12 for a song so it would be rude not to.

As for the weight, the components I fitted actually were lighter than the stock Volvo drivers which was a bonus and the as the only part of the box that is wood will be the front baffle, that wont add too much back on.

Still be less than carring a spare wheel round
