I remember that feeling when I had my clutch done. I don't like anybody working on my car but me.

Still, you've not spent anywhere near what mine cost me over the last 18 months and mine's not even an R!

You'll love it when you get it back tho ;)

I know i will :) and i understand about only working on your car yourself good way to go about things. but i kinda like a full paper garage serivce history from a dealer and or a specialist. (used have a car sales firm) just looks good when u sell a car sometimes as the paper work does the work for you hahah :)

Hope the car is sorted soon, but it's well worth spending that sort of money on if it's only done 80k. Look forward to seeing the car when we have a NW meet.

Hi had my S60R for a year or so have spent a fair bit on it I guess £3000 and that's just as you say those little jobs.cam belt, service at Volvo, pcv, tyres, headlight wiper motor, powerflex bushes, new key,new bits of trim,LEDs lights lots, gearbox oils, floor mats, imiv iPod thing camera, new set of wheels and tyres, ok most of those things her indoor knows nothing about (just as well).but as I say I will not be selling this car so it's my weekend toy for me ,and yes I would still buy the same again just love driving it.

How many of us are hiding the amount spent on our cars from our other halves? A lot of us me thinks, including me......

Well worth leaving it to the experts mate, we had the cam service just after we bought our R, as well as having the water pump changed, and the angle gear serviced. Last week we had the exhaust VVT unit changed, so all in with other bits and bobs, about £2K spent, as you say though, it is an amazing car.

Mine knows everything that's been spent on the R as it's normally her that wants things for it.

You must be joking! My Mum was alot worse than the mrs for not liking me spending and drinking. I wouldn't have been able to have 3 Volvos either at my Mums, so I can't complain about my mrs really.

My misses does like the car,but the car I had before was a S60 D5 blue, and all she say about the R is same as your old car just different colour ,nicer seats ,and I keep messing around with it.
She just dosent understand but she gets whats wants so she's happy.

My other half knows exactly what I spend on mine, I tell her everything because she sometimes has to help out with the bills....

The other half knows all right but she's ok with it. It'd be hard to hide bills for:
Intercooler
DMF
Clutch and Slave cylinder
New discs/pads all round
New turbo hoses
New airbox
Droplinks front and rear

That's the Beauty of these cars, if you look there's always a job to do
And mines just a boggo S60 D5 at 142000 miles, it's cost way more than its worth but...
I keep going because it's like a family pet.

And that`s before I do the suspension and various other niggly jobs.
Never mind the stuff I actually WANT to do like new wheels and a nice salvaged
full leather interior.

This car makes no sense in any rational, sane way whatsoever but I keep going because
I care about it for some reason.
The bill for the shrink I clearly need would be cheaper.

What colour leather do you want mate, I can get full interior (everything inside the car) for 55 quid just a matter of waiting for it to come into the scrappy and going and getting it. - well worth traveling for ;)

Black ideally mate.
£55 is a total bargain, really ratty front seats in mine.
I've got manual unheated seats at the moment so I'm guessing I want
manual replacements?
I'm up in North Yorkshire but I'm sure I could sort a run over for a nice interior
at that price.
Cheers,much appreciated

Sorry for the thread hijack OP...
