Been meaning to do this for ages since detailing the car but not got round to it until today. I used Würth plastic dye on recommendation from a few guys on here and it's fantastic. Everything easily removable came off and was dyed off the car and the rest was masked and done in situ. So, front bumper bump strips, lower door trims and mirror covers were removed and side bump strips were masked along with rear upper bumper trim. All the lower trim has enough space between trim and paint work to allow application without masking. The results are astounding. There's a few bits that need redoing as I was a bit too sparring with the product and has finished a bit streaky. As for longevity, I obviously can't comment but it's stated as 'permanent'.

Here's a few photos, excuse the paintwork, it's really salty from being parked on the seafront on Sunday. (Don't worry, I cleaned and degreased the plastics before applying the dye!)

Looks fantastic.

Did you use the Wurth Black or Grey Plastic Dye?

I opted for black. I think the grey would be ideal for 850 bumper caps though.

Nice, it really sets the bodywork off when the plastics look that nice.:)

But, I'm a tightass and will stick to boot - polishing my plastics 3 times a year lol (boot polish is £1.49 from Lidl and I'm still on my first tub :D)

Do it!!!! It really makes a massive difference to the overall appearance of the car! I'm quite shocked at just how much better the car looks for it!

I bet you apply it with a cotton bud too, just to make sure you don't use any more than is absolutely necessary! :buttkick:

that looks really good. might have to invest in some of that. a work colleague's partner works for Wurth so may be able to blag a freebie.

If you want a product that's even more cost effective a mate of mine used to use a product on his plastics called DBO.

.....(that's Dirty Black Oil if you were wondering !)

£35!!!!! Its quite steep for a bit of shoe polish ;)

AND, it says it needs to be warm and dry for a while for it to bond properly! No chance of doing this job till next Spring then :D
