850 Alarm Trouble

Hi all, My t5 is off the road at the moment due to an abs fault, so I am trying to sort out some other problems I am having ie the alarm. I dont have a key fob as my car is to early (94-L) so I arm it with the key, but recently it wont arm. The car locks and goes over to deadlock but the dash lite doesnt come on so and the alarm wont sound when you try to open car or bonnet. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem, any help would appreciated.

Someone told me it could be the bonnet sensor, try given the bonnet a hard slam and see if that works,
