Cheap 10W 40 semi that gets changed every 4-5k
5w 30 can leak if the seals aren't 100%.

Castrol oils for Volvo's the ones I have looked at says for ford on the container then on the back in the small print says for Volvo.
If you change the oil at shorten. Intervals than the makers recommend.
I thorght the Volvo oils was A4/B4 or some like this ?,if it's on long life changes.

Hi just went out to the car the oil I got from Volvo for top up was,
Castrol SLX professional longtec it says for Volvo cars A5/B5 0w-30 that's what I put in my 2005 year s60r.
Hope this is of help I think the A5/B5 is longlife changes and the ACEA A1/B1 is short life oil changes.

Yeah, 10w 40 is quieter, being thicker.

I need educating about this A B stuff, I just go for cheap, suitable stuff and change it a lot.

My engine is healthy tho, so I must be doing something right at 192 k miles.

Have you heard a M3/M5 start up from cold now that's like a diesel in the winter they put on 10w-60 oil or something like it.

The brother - in - law's Audi A4 2.0T sounds like a TDI ALL the time lol (slow as hell to and has the same mpg as my T5 too!)

OOOh, nice one Harv ;)

I like the tranny oil, I don't know what my indi put in after the clutch change, I may look for the syntrans 75/90 stuff.

I use A3/B3 5w/30 Fully synthetic as per Volvo recommendation. I do not have running issues or noise issues and am running stage 2 remap.

Yeah, 10w 40 is quieter, being thicker.

I've always used 10w 40 as well, as MRP says being thicker is better for older engines with higher mileages.
