Tyre pressures ok, I live in the north west so the a/c has never been switched on. Temp gauge slap bang in the middle. I might have broke the 30 mpg mark, but I got bored and went playing with a Clio 172 in the third lane. Well and truly spoilt his day. :)

Is that 29mpg an average figure, what does the instant mpg reading show at 60mph?

Pleased that you got it her up from 22 anyway. I reached 31 on the way back from Essex for a few miles, but 29 was the average. Now down to the 26's after some short journeys. Wonder if the wagon driver was thinking 'what's that f--kin big yellow thing behind me?' lol.

There was one day last week(this year's Summer for us) when air con even in the North West was needed. Think it Tuesday when it reached 23. None of my 3 cars have working aircon.

Working A/C is the main "extra" i need on a car, especially as the tank has black leather.

Takes me back 20 years having no working aircon, when most cars didn't have it. Last year I used Laser on the warm days as she was ice cool. Still, all my cars have sunroofs, and windows, so I make do with them.

Instantaneous mpg fluctuates between 32 and 19 at 60mph depends if I'm going up or down hill, missed that day of sunshine, must have been in the garage. Lol

Bank Holiday Monday was good, but the Tuesday was awesome. I was out on the road, and it was great. That's it now though until next year.............

You really should be getting more than that at 60mph, im sure my s70r auto would get over 35mpg (indicated) at 60mph

I think my Uncle Jim had her shut away for ages, so maybe a really good service is in order. I say Uncle Jim cos the owner was James Cox, and I'm Mark Cox, but we're not related really.

If your foot's to the floor all of the time, it is.

I'm now concerned Mark you seem to know more about my car than I do!!! Lol
It'd been sat in a garage for 4 years, less than 1000 miles in that time. I've done more than double that since I've had it. :)
Foot flat on the floor, it shows 5 mpg. In the words of Clarkson "POWER!!"

Thankfully, my car just shows "less than" 10mpg, when foot to the floor.

Can I play? :bounce:

I often see <10mpg, and recently as low as 4.7mpg just by being sat in traffic. But that's in my Alfa. Quite depressing when my daily commute is only about 4 miles each way

Don't have a clear recollection of what my V70 T5 was like before I took it off the road, but I <think> it was about 20-22 around town, and got 32 on a round trip from Edinburgh to Devon and back.

lol, considering the "small" engine in the alfa, i'm quite pleased with my town driving mpg lol

LOL!! I was really after the car and contacted the guy several times. It was just a month too early for me as I was waiting for a bonus to pay for it. I even remember the reg is M --- CLX, I said on here that if it had been M--- COX, then it would have been like a private plate for me.

That's the one, gutted for you that you missed it, it was to my gain though, not rubbing it in much. Lol
Going to give it a full run through, timing belt cap, leads, box oil the full shebang :) we need a photo of yours and mine side by side :)

I'd like to see her at some stage, and it would be good to photo them together. I have the V70 R as I really do need an estate car sometimes for my job and dogs. So I suppose to get an 854 made more sense, but I really hope she goes well and that you can improve the mpg.

Maybe we should look at a North West meet at some point soon?
