Amp Replacement

Has anyone replace the amp under the drivers seat in a V70 2?

Where did you seat the new amp? I am thinking of putting it in the boot storage compartment.

I would imagine it will be a nightmare having to reroute wiring and extend. What's wrong with it being under the seat? Surely the best thing to do is just buy a new amp and leave it in its oe position? Or is that me just trying to make life easy for ones self!!

the only thing I am worried about is the heat an after-market amp might generate and being under the seat doesn't strike me as the best place for heat to be generated.

Anyway, to that effect, I found an amp for sale on ebay and I grabbed it today during work:

amp arrived. fitted this evening. all good. happy :)

Aftermarket amps get just as hot as OE ones, especially when volume is up. Volvo would have researched the best postioning so i'm sure under the seat is just fine. Glad your happy with your new oe amp too! Lot less hassle.
