Apologies for not having come in here sooner to say hello. I am a mere mortal who after having had company cars for 15 years got made redundant 6 months after changing jobs and hence fell out onto the pavement without a car. That was two years ago now.

I knew I wanted a practical safe family car (ie estate) with leather and toys but wanted something with a bit of get up and go. I had £6K to spend so a T5 CD with 82K was the answer. It's been the first car in 20 years that I haven't been bored with within 9 months. I still love driving it today as much as I did 2 years ago.

I'm selling the car now as I'm back on my feet after being offered a great Marketing Manager role with generous car allowance, but need to get a diesel as they only pay 10p per mile and the rest has to be claimed thro tax. My sights are on a 530D Sports (01,02), leather, auto, blah balh, blah......

Enough chatter, hello to everyone and although I feel a bit like a mercenary coming onto the site just trying to sell my car and get advise as to pricing it, I've had a good shufty around and have learnt a hell of a lot. Loved the Nurhberg(?) ring video!! and wish you all the best with growing the community. You should have no problems at all.

Ta Ra. :)

Hi many thanks for the site comments, we are doing our best.....

Also very good of you to post, you would be amazed how many just put their car up on classifieds and never re appear ;)

Welcome to the forum anyway, even if you are buying a BMW, you have owned a T5 and will always be welcome.

Best wishes

Cheers Justin,

If my T5 did a few more miles to the gallon, ie about 38 (LOL), I wouldn't be selling it. I need the diesel for the soon to start regular trips to Cheltenham for which I'll only get 10p per mile expenses and the rest has to come back through tax return.

It is seriously the only car I've had that I never get bored with.

I LOVE entry ramps to motorways!!!

Thanks

BTW, love the forum, good community, useful advice, active. Just visited VOC forum and got knocked over by a bit of tumbleweed.

Keep up the good work!!

Next job, smile for the man coming to see my car at £4295 tomorrow. If we do the deal I'll let you know the results.

Still want to keep it. Think I'll go schizo and buy it off myself !!

Thanks for a great site. I sold the T5 (http://www.volvot5.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=448) this morning to a guy in Surrey for £4,200 cash to a guy who wanted a car with space and drove slower than my Granny!

Keep up the good work. I'll check back now and again.

It would have been easier on the wallet if I hadn't just had the cambelt service, MOT, 12 months tax and then placed a £60 ad on Autotrader for 2 weeks in mag then 3 on web.

Irony meant that the guy saw it on the web within 2 hours of it going up, came round the next day and showed me pictures of the Queen. I hadn't expected it to go so soon or easily hence had booked the work in for this week. Do you know how much it hurts to sell the car then still have to do all the above.

Ho Hum. Don't want to sell it now !! He's coming tomorrow to collect.

Boo Hoo (LOL)
