Can I do a few? - Pedro is a busy man?

1. MBC stands for Manual Boost Controller. It is a spring loaded valve. The spring is compressed such that the ball bearing only opens at a chosen pressure. It stops the wastegate in the turbo from opening - thus holding boost pressure for longer - which increases the fuel/air compression for longer effectively giving you more power.

2.Ebay and certain tuning shops (online and otherwise)
I believe "Reliaboost" are a good make - ReliaBoost II MBC?

3. Yeah but you have to be careful you don't over do the spring.

4. 30 - 40 quid

5. Depends how much you tighten it to a point. 25 bhp possibly?

6. Yes

I bought mine from here...

eBay MBC (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Manual-Boost-Controller-Vauxhall-Astra-Calibra-Turbo_W0QQitemZ8001304912QQcategoryZ32094QQrdZ1QQc mdZViewItem)

I fitted mine myself, together with some email instructions and lots of help from Pedro  .

Advice - before fitting, check that your insurance company will insure the MBC. Mine doesn't (elephant) and I've had to remove mine until my renewal comes up next year  !

When I get home from work, I'll have a look and see if I still have the fitting instructions on email.

Best bet is to invest in a boost gauge that will be a tad more accurate than the standard boost gauge in the 850's

I set the PSI on mine off the car with an electric footpump

It is now set at 14 PSI and makes the car run like it always should
