I'm about to upgrade my front brake discs, which are the best standard, drilled, dimpled or grooved ?

I'm having the same dillemmer, most on here said that it wasnt worth the extra ££'s for the dippled and grooved.

So, i think i'm going with Mintex Disc's myself.

i'd stick with decent plain discs, used EBC drilled & dibbled & they kept cracking

Ive got a set if drilled and grooved not the ebc ones or what ever there called but some off ebay and tbh they has been brilliant i never get any brake squeel from them as they help to de glaze the pads but on another not i have never abused or ised my brackes on a track so i dont know what they would be like when pushed to the max but for normal road driving i find them brilliant

Your front brakes are the same size as the rears on mine lol

and don't go on about how fat my car is, because yours aint much lighter!

Anyway on the subject of discs, i think we should admit that we mainly have drilled/grooved/dimpled discs for the looks.

Standard Brembo 302s here.

Like these... (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VOLVO-S70-2-3-T5-AWD-96-98-177KW-FRONT-BREMBO-BRAKE-DISCS-09-8642-10-/300656322320?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3AVolvo%7CModel%3AV70&hash=item4600836710#ht_1756wt_952)

No sign of wear whatsoever after 1.5yrs.

After looking around and several phone calls I got myself a set of mintex discs and pads for the front and back.

I completely painted my new discs with matt black VHT paint, first time you use them the pads will take off the paint where it needs to but the rest of the disc will remain protected and stop the edges rusting up like they normally do.
