I think I want to change the look of the car at the rear and possibly get rid of the ugly silver cover I currently have. But do I replace it with a black one or leave plain. I fitted the cover as soon as I got the bumpers painted so there's scratch free paint under there!

Thoughts please!

Definately remove and cover with clear vinyl......

And on that note, sell me your silver guard, before my rear bumper gets any scratches....!

Can't remember which member it was back in the days of Wobbley's BBQ's who had a think rubberised protector which I thought was a brilliant idea.

Never seen one since...not that I've been looking much.

Hmmm... At one point I was thinking of painting the front splitter, sills, sill bars and bottom section of the rear bumpers all to match. Did it on the 850 on forza and it looks quite good! Not sure it would look right with the wheels though, I've bought a strip of clear vinyl for £1.08 so the bumper strip will be off and up for grabs soon (Cost nearly £60 new!)

im going for a black one.

I think it would suit your car better as all the trim and wheels etc are dark.

I'd deffo take it off......and sell it to me, I backed into a KFC sign and I've got crazing on the top of my bumper.

As has been said I think a black one would suit your car better but if you've got good paint underneath go clear.

I've put a flap of carpet fixed under the lift up panel that I can drop over the bumper it protects the bumper and gives the the dogs a bit of grip when they jump in.

I like what you have done to your 70, not everyone's cuppa but what you have done works with that colour. I voted black, normally I would say clear but your car is hardly normal

Remove completely, if the paintwork is mint it will look very nice.

Hi i used clear vinyl for years, however it caused the paint to yellow underneath, so no matter which way you go, the paint gets damaged.
Finally brought a black protector from Demon tweeks, looked odd at first, however got used to it and actually prefer it now to fully painted .

when you have a slow car like this you need all the extra power you can get.

The bars are staying as they're soooo rare! Have you ever seen any others? I know I haven't.

The tyres are 225/45R17 and yes they are too big really, probs better with 205/45R17? That would look better.

Anyone got any tips for removing the tape residue that'll be left behind after I remove the strip?

WD40 on a soft cloth mate works a treat, if its stuborn spray on direct and leave to soak in for a couple of mins

I have a black spoiler, black bumper protector and a silver car, and I think it looks good. Nobody else does though, so f--k them!

On removal the paint peeled! That' how good 3M tape is!

I'll stick a Black one on it, plus the silver one split too :( not happy!

I'm tempted to sticker bomb the top of the rear bumper now, thoughts?
When I get a new exhaust I'll opt for a single exit and change to a fwd bumper as twins are sort of lying aren't they?

Here you go, i put my money where me big gob is...not perfect but ok first attempt at carbon cover.

I prefer the single outlet myself...although I did toy with the idea of opening the second outlet....nice car mate

I did a DIY job on mine. Took the back section off, cut a hole in the left box and added a 3" length of pipe (then did the other side to match) Then cleaned it up and used some black heat paint to protect it

Then a couple of slash cut 3" shiny tips
